RMT sessions at Spear Wellness Centre are covered, if you have coverage under your insurance benefits for Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) appointments. You will be able to submit your receipts for reimbursement with your insurance provider directly!
-
For Swedish & Relaxation Massage sessions, you’ll be asked to undress to your level of comfort. Many clients choose to remove most clothing, but you are always fully draped with sheets or blankets—only the area being worked on will be uncovered. If you feel more comfortable staying partially clothed, that’s completely fine.
For movement-based or integrated massage therapy sessions (where exercise or stretching may be included), comfortable athletic wear (such as shorts, leggings, or a tank top/t-shirt) is recommended.
-
Most insurance plans do not require a doctor’s note to access Registered Massage Therapy. However, some plans may request one for reimbursement, so it’s best to check with your provider.
-
Some techniques may cause mild discomfort as tension is released, but massage should never be painful. Your therapist will check in with you throughout the session and adjust pressure to your comfort level.
-
This depends on your goals. Some clients come weekly while recovering from injury, while others book monthly or seasonally for stress relief and maintenance. Your therapist can recommend a schedule that best supports you.
