Registered Massage Therapy (RMT)

Treating Pain & Dysfunction in a holistic and integrative way

  • More than relaxation — this approach combines hands-on treatment with movement and evidence-based techniques to relieve pain, support recovery, and improve mobility.

    • Relieves tension & pain – eases tight, sore, or overworked muscles

    • Supports injury recovery – promotes healing and restores mobility

    • Improves circulation & flexibility – enhances blood flow and range of motion

    • Reduces stress & anxiety – calms the nervous system and supports relaxation

    • Boosts performance – aids recovery and helps prevent injury

    • Enhances posture & alignment – addresses imbalances linked to chronic pain

    • Supports overall well-being – improves sleep, energy, and immune function

  • RMT sessions at Spear Wellness Centre are covered, if you have coverage under your insurance benefits for Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) appointments.

You will be able to submit your receipts for reimbursement with your insurance provider directly!

  • For movement-based or integrated massage therapy sessions, comfortable athletic wear (such as shorts, leggings, or a tank top/t-shirt) is recommended to allow for ease of movement.

  • This depends on your goals. Some clients come weekly while recovering from injury, while others book monthly or seasonally for stress relief and maintenance. Your therapist can recommend a schedule that best supports you.

All About Integrative RMT

Struggling with ongoing pain, tightness, or limited mobility? You may feel stuck in your body — dealing with recurring injuries, tension that won’t release, or movement that just doesn’t feel right.

Integrative Massage Therapy goes beyond traditional treatment. By combining hands-on therapy with movement, rehab-based techniques, and personalized care, we address the root cause‍ ‍ helping you move better, feel stronger, and experience lasting relief.

Integrative techniques to support your recovery

  • A hands-on technique that targets muscles and connective tissue to relieve pain, reduce tension, and improve overall function.

  • A targeted, evidence-based approach that uses acupuncture to reduce pain, support healing, and address the underlying structures contributing to dysfunction.

  • The science of movement — used to understand how your body functions and moves. This approach helps identify imbalances, improve performance, and reduce the risk of injury.

  • Personalized, science-based exercise programs designed to support recovery, build strength, and improve functional movement.

  • A movement-based approach that retrains core stability and proper movement patterns to improve performance, reduce injury risk, and support recovery.

  • A movement-focused approach that uses soft tissue work, joint mobilization, and postural alignment to restore function, reduce pain, and improve overall movement.

  • A gentle, hands-on technique that targets restrictions in connective tissue to reduce pain and improve mobility.

  • A targeted approach that identifies patterns of tension in the body to reduce pain and restore healthy tissue function.

  • A targeted technique that uses specialized tools to release fascial tension, improve movement, and support recovery.

  • The Active Release Technique uses motion to locate and to break up scar tissue and adhesions that can form due to direct injury or repetitive movement over time.

  • Synergy taping is a supportive taping technique used to reduce pain, improve muscle function, and assist recovery.

  • Guided breathing techniques, often paired with cold exposure and mindfulness, to support nervous system regulation, resilience, and overall well-being.
